" To Survive takes courage, determination, and love "

Elephants crossing a tumultuous river in Samburu. It is flooding, it’s heavy and the mother elephant is faced with a decision to cross or not to cross.  After so much thought, she crosses the treacherous rivers following the herd.

She begins to cross the river and the more she goes in, the harder the river flows. The little cub loses his grip and she tries to hold the cub with her trunk, but the water keeps pushing. This is the same river with crocodiles and many predators who wait for cubs like this. They are still far from the end, and if she is not careful she may loose her cub whose pregnancy she carried for two years.

It isn’t long before the herd notices that she tries to save the little cub who is now already tired. Together they come back to the rescue with each the herd now standing on either side of the cub to block the angry river currents.  It is the most beautiful sight to watch as the cub arrives gracefully at the end of the river. Though tired, trust is build, he is able to cross finally.

Entrepreneurship is like raising a cub in the wild. Most days feel like a true adventure like crossing the river, exposed to the most eventful treacherous road sometimes, where at any point something can make one close shop. Like the cub struggling to swim, sometimes the current is quite strong. One can be carried away and swept away or worse be lunch for crocodiles.

The sheltering of the older elephants can be the mentors and the support system of people who have seen it all in business coming to your rescue so that you do not drown or lose your breath and quit already.

That’s what we hope the Dream Tribe community can really be for people starting out their businesses, a safe haven for the many whose dreams are set to fly.

Sometimes you don’t have to have a go at life alone, sometimes you just need to have a tribe, and your are sure you will arrive.
