The Journey of CEO of Vazi Network: Linda Iyadi

Entrepreneur of the Week: Entrepreneur Corner

Lynda Iyadi": Founder and CEO Vazi Network
Madame Lynda Iyadi is a lover of fine things in life and she is fine herself, brilliant and a trailblazer in her own right. For her, fine involves being smart and being able to attain great things through hard work. She believes that to be at this level, one must get down and dirty, fold your sleeves and never look back when chasing dreams. Even still, she believes that businesses should be clean, even as she soils her hands in farming which she says is capital intensive and a lot of hard work.

She has overcome great challenges and become a surviving business owner, unlike most people who quit too soon, Linda has served her years and has learned in the process. Even amidst disappointment, when the county closed her shop without a basis, Linda has found ways to reinvent herself. She was clear that she would never be part of brown envelopes and found herself in the online space, branding herself as a global brand in the fashion and media space.

Linda is a multi-dimension entrepreneur with years of experience in the same, having previously run two businesses, two of which she has now closed down. Her background in public relations has seen her through different businesses with the most recent, running the Vazi Network Magazine, that speaks on contemporary issues of the urban culture and fashion. This was informed by her love for fashion and her experience in the fashion retail business as well and background in public relations studies.
She started her first business at the age of 22, where she says, “it was more of a joke then but after facing so many challenges in life you realize that life ain’t a joke to anybody.”. Starting from her own savings and great support from her bestie, Linda has over the years built her empire and going strong at it.

Like many entrepreneurs, she too started her first business for the fine things in life. Seeing her successful uncle dine and wine in different countries on his bill and timeline. No one ever controlled his life until today. Also her grandpa who was an amazing farmer and businessman too already had existing role models in her life to see the possibility for herself. This provided her the model to desire to be an independent queen and indeed she is.
That notwithstanding, she took up internships, but would decline any form of abuse on her compensation, she has taken up opportunities where she is paid right. This has helped her to date even in business to dream bigger and ask for more from herself and the world around her as a measure of her standards. She would never wish to be considered as, “cheap labor,”. This explained her heightened level of formality even in her own business.
Being in business has taught her a great deal of self-reliance, resilience, and making it through the tough times with only one paycheck starting off, unlearning a lot, and eventually striving for as many paychecks.
She envisions that in the next 2 years to surely become a cash cow, “I promise myself.” She says. She calls out to entrepreneurs and says, “Don’t hold back or waste time in employment if you can create your own.”.
