After two weeks of shouting about this one thing, and now there is nothing to shout about. You are faced with the results of what you did, how you did it. Somewhat excited, sometimes not.
Looking at this very colorful event, and you are thinking, WE DID IT EH!!! But what did I learn from it.
From when the music stopped, and it struck mid-night and no-body was dancing, I think I galloped my bitter lemon for the first time. Even though people seemed to have had their moment and danced immediately after the songs that were like poems were over.
The event was a success and great, even when it had not been exactly as I dreamed it to be. My vision and my reality mismatched. And more so when people kept saying, don't worry, it will be better next time. He he he, I took it so personally. I thought, what do you mean, this was amazing!!!
For the first time, I did come to the reality though, it was not about me. It shouldn't be. It was not about making money even. It should be about the service you bring to the table. To amaze whoever, until they can't stop talking about it.
It was about creating an unforgettable experience. It was about the guests who had even believed in me to pay to attend. It was that they were here with me. Allowing me. And when that didn't happen, in a sense I had flopped at this one, even though I had won on one end.
The entire focus should be in knowing, what do they like? What do they want? How best can I reach them? What do they need? Do they really need it.
And little about how good I will look. Today, I know better. It is not my show, it is their show. So I came out with a lesson, but even most the knowledge, that IT IS POSSIBLE!!!
Infarct, I should have done one immediately after that, BUT, did I really?
